The old Corn Exchange in Leith was originally built in 1861 as a marketing hall but has had many different uses over the years, including as a pub for several decades. The publican was said to be a cruel man who tortured small children. His business was failing due to a boycott by the locals who objected to his keeping a three year old child locked in a cupboard. He later hanged himself in the room above the pub.
There've been signs of two ghosts. The lights often flicker and the child has been heard crying upstairs - while the publican's ghost has been a little more active, nudging people in an attempt to force them away from the cupboard and the upstairs room.
