Saturday 1st November 2008

We all arrived and met in the John Fieldhouse Building which was to be our crew room for the night. The investigation was organized by Norie Miles, and UKPRS, and was to raise money for Diabetes. There were three areas to investigate, the John Fieldhouse building, The Holland 1 Submarine and the HMS Alliance. We were split into two teams for the night, and Martin from UKPRS was our team leader for the night.

The HMS Alliance was commissioned on the 14th May 1947 and decommissioned in 1973, but was then used as a training boat until 1979. She was then given to the museum in 1981, and lifted out of the water onto stilts, and is now preserved as a memorial to British submariners who died in service.

The Holland 1 was the first Naval submarine commisioned in 1901, and while being towed after being decommisioned, she sunk on 5th November 1913. She was raised in 1981 and moved to the RNSM Gosport and treated for 4 years with sodium carbonate solution to remove the corrosive chloride. In 2001 she was placed in a new purpose built climate controlled building. One thing that i found amazing is that when she was raised, they took the battery out and it still worked, how can a battery that has been at the bottom of the sea for 60 years still do that.

The John Fieldhouse Building., was opened in 2005 as part of an expansion to the museum, and it holds the X-craft mini submarine HMSX24, and other exhibits.

First Vigil - HMS Alliance.

I thought this was the best location of the night, we started in the officer’s mess, and conducted a seance. At first it seemed quiet, but i had a feeling of being watched from the corridor by a Petty Officer. I had this confirmed as correct by one of the staff who work there. Martin the team leader suggested trying to bring the energies of the spirits forward. The team channeled their energy and thoughts while holding hands and meditating. One member of the team volunteered to have an outer facial body experience, and it was pointed out that the team members face was changing. We decided to try and make contact with the sprits by use of a spirit board, but to no avail. We then decided to move onto one of the other bunk areas on the submarine. and this is where Marq had a go at channeling a spirit. His actions were strange at first making slight movements, and then it was like he was dancing. The rest of the group went into another room while i stayed in the corridor, i had the sensation of being crushed, and Marq said some one had died of a heart attack, i asked the memebr of staff, and said that it wasn't a heart attack he was feeling, but the spirit had been crushed by something and that it had been an accident. Again this was confirmed as correct.

Second Vigil - The Holland 1.

Some of the team decided to use a spirit board. Some questions were asked and a few yes and no answers were received, but there were some answers that came throught hat did not make sense at all, almost like the person trying tocommunicate couldnt spell or read. A team member Dave became very angry and felt that he wanted to argue with someone, he also had stabbing pains in his side. I went out of the submarine as i kept seeing someone walking around outside, which was strange as we were all inside the Holland 1 at the time, again this was confirmed as a regular occrence by the members of staff.

Third Vigil - HMS Alliance.

We started with a seance in the Officers mess, and Marq decided to have another go at channelling, and he started to move in a strange way twisting and turning and also came out with 2 names, one was James a name i had picked up earlier on our first visit to this submarine, and the second name was Karl. He came through with a few answers to our questions, but it was very strained replies as Marq was fighting the sensation at the time.

All in all it was a fantastic night and i enjoyed every minute of the investigation. I have to go back and see the place agaqin, but maybe in the daytime so i can see more.
