There have been buildings on the site since the 1700's. Opened in 1907, the first managing director was Signor Rino Pepi and it stayed this way till his death in 1927. Sinor Pepi is known to make appearances in his box in the dress circle. He is also blamed for touching people on the shoulder and has even been known to goose a pretty lady, well being Italian!

The pekinese dog buried in the inside walls of the theatre belonged to Signor Pepi. Light padding feet across the floor, and soft panting have been heard. The dog has been seen in the old bar area and corridor near dressing room 5, whch used to be Signor Pepi's apartment.

Gordon the door keeper has been seen carrying the chains used to lock up the property. He has been seen in the stalls area, and at the back of the dress circle. He is recognised by being distinctively dressed.

The lady of the stage has been seen standing in the wings, nobody knows who she is, but once made her presence known by walking out on stage infront of a packed audience. Several audience members saw her at the same time.

Jimmy the flyman is detected in the fly area of the theatre. It is thought he committed suicide, but some say it was a tragic accident and he got caught in the ropes by slipping. People experience strange feelings around their neck in the stage location under this area.

Annabella the ghost of a little girl haunts dressing room 12 and is often seen cowering in the corner of the room. Dressing room 12 used to be part of a house that was originally seperate to the theatre until it was aquired and knocked into the dressing rooms it is today. Annabella is linked to the house not the theatre, but she does like to wander sometimes.

Other incidents are unexplained noises, cold spots, feeling of being watched, light anomalies, physical phenomena, and strange smells.

First Location - Stage and Stalls area

Several light anomalies were caught on camera whilst on the stage. The sound of dripping water was heard and there was no logical cause found for this on investigation, it wasn't raining either so we were a bit baffled by this. The sense of being watched from the back of the stalls was also reported and a few shadows were seen going towards the stage left area. Nick theteam leader had someone breathe in his ear, and i dont think i have ever seen anyone move so fast when it happened.

Second Location - Upper Stalls

Seat HH13 (or 666) is reported to be found down every morning by the cleaners, we checked the spring mechanism and found this could not be possible as it always returned to the upright position. Several people reported feeling cold whilst sat in this chair, and also reported feeling light headed. I had someone stroke the side of my head while i was sat filming the seat, the camera also seemed to have a problem focusing on the seat, this did not happen anywhere else in the entire theatre and i have no rational explanation for this.

When sat in Signor Pepi's box with Phil Whyman and another group member i had my right arm grabbed, this was also reported at the end of the night by another girl who was in one of the other groups. We went to the top of the stairs and all the group smelt cigar smoke, we later found out this is a regular occurence.

Third Location - The Gods and Dressing Room 12

Felt tickling on the top of my head. My right thigh went cold as if someone was sitting on it as well. Myself and another group member heard walking and on investigation found no one there, and it would have been impossible for someone to get down the stairs without us hearing them.

We moved into dressing room 12 and decided to do a seance. My right arm started to shake uncontrollably and i could not stop it at all. another group member heard a sigh and felt slightly sick. A few lights were caught on camera but i cannot rule out camera flare from the other camcorder in the room as it could have been shining off the mirrors that surround 3 sides of the room.

Overall it was a fantastic night and i would recommend it to anyone for an overnight investigation.
